Effective Date: February 28, 2025
The short version: Voice for Change does not collect, store, or share your personal information. Your letter goes directly from your device to your email app — we never see it.
1. Introduction
Welcome to Voice for Change (voiceforchange.ca). Your privacy matters to us. This Privacy Policy explains how this tool works and what happens — and what doesn't happen — with any information you enter.
2. What This Tool Does
Voice for Change is a letter-generation tool. You select your district, issue, and tone; optionally enter your name and a personal statement; and a letter is generated in your browser. When you click Send, your device opens your own email application with the letter pre-filled. The letter is sent directly from your email app — not through our servers.
We do not operate a form submission system. No data passes through Voice for Change's infrastructure at any point.
3. Information We Do Not Collect
Voice for Change does not collect, store, transmit, or retain any of the following:
Your name, email address, or any personal details you enter into the form. The content of any letter you generate. Your electoral district or political preferences. Your IP address or device information. Cookies or tracking data of any kind.
Everything you type stays on your device. When you close the page, it is gone.
4. Third-Party Services
This site uses a small number of external services to function:
Google Fonts — used to load typefaces. Google may log font requests. See Google's privacy policy for details.
Font Awesome — used for icons. Loaded via CDN; may log requests.
Ko-fi — an optional donation widget. If you interact with the Ko-fi button, you will be directed to Ko-fi's platform, which has its own privacy policy. Viewing this site does not share any information with Ko-fi.
None of these services receive the personal information you enter into the letter form.
5. MLA Contact Information
The MLA names, email addresses, and other contact details displayed on this site are sourced from publicly available information published by the Nova Scotia House of Assembly. This information is provided as a public service to help constituents reach their elected representatives.
6. Links to External Sites
This site may link to external resources including the Nova Scotia Legislature website and individual MLA profile pages. Voice for Change is not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites. We encourage you to review their policies before submitting information to them directly.
7. Children's Privacy
Voice for Change is intended for use by adults engaging in civic participation. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under the age of 18.
8. Changes to This Policy
If this Privacy Policy is updated, the revised version will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. As this tool does not collect personal data, changes are unlikely to affect users in any meaningful way.
9. Contact
If you have questions or concerns about this Privacy Policy, you can reach us through the Ko-fi page linked on the main site. We are a small independent project and will respond as promptly as we can.
